Leon and Chris Reunite for New Challenges in ‘Resident Evil 6’

By Henry Hernandez—

The new installment of the Resident Evil saga just came out October 2, and of course being a fan I went out and purchased a copy for myself. The game brings back old heroes such as Leon, Chris, along with appearance of another “special” character. I enjoyed the game; it was well worth the money.

The latest Resident Evil games have strayed away from what once put it at the top of the survival-horror genre. Now Resident Evil 6 brought back the zombies but the game did not bring back the sense of fear that was felt for every encounter. There was fear for the character’s life. The ammo was scarce and only used in dire situations. Now as long as one can achieve a kill, ammo is immense.

Also to achieve a kill is pretty simple. One has a variety of choices with varied weapons and also old fashion melee moves. The melee is nice but the fact that one can use them disappoints since in the original Resident Evil games one would never dare to attempt a melee move because of the fear of instant death.

Finally after reading a lot of reviews and playing the game myself, the game was fun yet it will never be as memorable as the first three games. It is worth the cost of admission but it is no classic.
