While the spotlight is on the baseball team this season because of their deserved success, the girl’s team might be overlooked. The softball team also had some success this year and the players have great memories to cherish after graduation.
This years the softball team went on its first Florida trip. This is the first time the girls were able to go to Florida to play along with the baseball team. It was a wonderful experience to be able to travel and compete against teams that we would not have had the pleasure to play, during the regular season.
After returning home the softball team played well for the rest of the season. Passaic beat teams that are really tough like Clifton and Passaic Valley. This season flew by, and all the hard work had paid off. It seemed as though the season was over way too fast.
This year the softball team played its first night game at home, which was also the last game of the season. The new lights on the field are great. With the home field lit up like daytime, the softball team felt the PHS pride, and won that game.
The last game of the year was a win, which was a great way to end the season and careers of seniors, Stephanie Cedeno, Ariela Colon, Lily Ledezma, Jennifer Ray, Yvette Rivera, and Yvette Rodriguez. Good luck to all your future endeavors, and thanks for all your hard work at PHS.
