Bullying has recently been brought the attention of the nation. Many schools have been plagued by this horrible event , and it has become a simple fact of life in many schools throughout the nation. It is an unfortunate event in the lives of children across America.
However, in a survey conducted by the Hilltop Star, PHS falls far below the national averages for bullying. On the question of bullying PHS fell over thirty points below the national average. While every victim is a tragedy, every student interviewed knew that the best course of action for bullying is speaking up and getting the situation resolved.
Most students also feel that bullying is not a serious problem at PHS, whereas nationally over 70 percent of students believe it is a problem at their schools. Therefore it seems that at PHS students get along. While there will always be conflicts, which is just part of growing up, organized bullying doesn’t seem to be a big issue here.
With all the issues that face a school, it is nice to know that PHS students get along, and help each other. Let us continue to help to become the number one school.
