Vincent Capuana, also known as “Mr. Passaic,” who served for 30 years on the school board, has died at age 76. He lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 20.
Spending almost all of his life in the city of Passaic, serving as school board member, and a city council member, Mr. Capuana definitely earned the nickname, “Mr. Passaic.’
He graduated from PHS, loved the sports program and sent his two sons, Rosario and Anthony to PHS as well. Even after his sons graduated, he could be found often in the stands of PHS games. Both of his sons played for the PHS football team.
He is remembered today as a friend to the students and people of Passaic, and has been honored by having School No. 15 named after him.
The students and community of Passaic will surely miss this advocate for our town.
