Students all over the school are attached to their phones. This is not really news, but the fact that all these students are answering questions is. The latest craze in phone apps is the game Trivia Crack.

Crack is probably the best name for this game. It seems simple enough. The game asks questions of players and the one who gets the most right wins. However there is something about this game that keeps students’ eyes glued to their little screens just watching the little spinner giving you a crack at the next question.

Every time a user wins a question round over the “smartest” person they know, there is some endorphin that stimulates a feeling of supreme pleasure. Even just hearing the ringtone that signals that the question was answered correctly, signals a pleasurable response that furthers ever students’ addiction.

Created by Etermax, Trivia Crack has reached the top of the charts in the free and paid app categories on Itunes. The app is also the the top free game in the Google Play Store. The group develops in Latin America, the CEO and the founder of Entermax, Maximo Cavazzani has lead Etermax to 12 million user in less than two years.

Trivia Crack was released on October 26, 2013, two years ago, and has recently seen its popularity explode in the last months. PHS students are not immune to the charms of this simple and addicting game.

While the popularity of this game seems to be falling quickly, it is still worth downloading and playing. Perhaps students can even convince teachers that this is an educational app. Maybe the school can even trigger its own pleasurable response with sound effects and ringtones when students get right answers in class.
