The Passaic High School battled all season, but their struggles were all worth it for their final game of the season. The second half of the game against DePaul Catholic was coming to an end and the score was 0-0.
The Indians were determined to finish off the season with a win and were trying their best not to concede a goal. They all knew that Coach Fazio had never beaten DePaul Catholic in all his years coaching at Passaic High School.
There were fifteen minutes remaining in the game and the score was tied (0-0) when the Passaic Varsity Boys decided to go forward and try to score. The ball got crossed towards Alan Calixto and he passed it to Edwin Martinez. Martinez didn’t hesitate to shoot and it paid off; the ball went into the back of the net.
The final score was 1-0 in favor of Passaic High School. The Varsity Boys did a great job of not giving up a game-tying goal and ended up victorious. They were proud of their win because their coach had given them a tremendous amount of support and dedication. Now, they finally repaid him with their first win against DePaul Catholic.
