Every year, the NJROTC program hosts an event called The Military Ball. This school year, the event was held Dec. 17, 2016 at the Best Western in Fairfield.

The annual Military Ball is a tradition that goes back many years for JROTC programs everywhere. Every year, NJROTC cadets gather at a venue dressing to impress. The female cadets are given the opportunity to dress in long formal dresses while the male cadets dress in their formal uniforms.

The opening ceremony began with the singing of our national anthem and a presentation of the American flag.
As part of the opening ceremony all seniors who attended  through the swords of the honor cadet members, known as “The Senior Entrance Sword Arch.” Soon after the instructors said a few words and introduced the guests of honor.

Finally, as the dance floor is cleared and the guests were seated, the military ball court is called to line up.  The Military Ball King and Queen were announced. Joan Pimentel won the crown for military ball queen; and the crown for military ball king went to Sergio Batista.

All of the attendees enjoyed a beautiful night with delicious food and amazing music and dancing.  Thank you to the Military Ball Committee and all of the Naval Science instructors that contributed to make this a successful event!
