SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: John Duran

By Janessa Mejias

This Senior Spotlight goes out to John Duran. He is known for being in NJROTC and Marching Band, but what he has accomplished will help you get to know him a little more. Duran, 18, was always motivated by his family and they always pushed him to be the best that he can possibly be. Growing up with that mindset, all he has ever wanted to do is to make his family proud.

Duran is a part of multiple clubs at PHS that help out our community, such as the Octagon Club and the Environmental Science Club. Duran also actively volunteers on weekends at an elderly care center and he helps those who have fallen victim to a burning house situation.

“Serving the community is a big part of my life,” Duran said. John is a high achiever and finds that the support of his friends, family and teachers help to push him to be the best he can be, personally and academically.

“I plan to live my life the best that I can and I plan to improve every aspect of my faith, morality and academics.”

Let’s all congratulate John Duran for his success and for his motivation to achieve even more!
