Annual Inspection for NJROTC Cadets

By Aleyshka Barbosa

Passaic High School’s NJROTC held another outstanding annual inspection on March 2, 2017. In preparation for the annual inspection, NJROTC cadets studied basic military knowledge, prepped their uniforms to be as perfect as humanly possible and made sure they were nothing less than sharp for the big day.

Area Four manager, Commander Jimmy Miller, inspected the unit. Miller complimented the unit for their hard work and dedication to the NJROTC program.

PHS principal Mr. Velez thanked the cadets along with the NJROTC instructors who always give a good name to PHS and go above and beyond expectations.

“Thank you to all of the NJROTC cadets for always helping out the school; whenever the school calls NJROTC cadets are sure to respond and help,” Ms. Romero told the unit, which is under the command of Lt. Commander Hac.

Miller not only inspected the unit but also reviewed financial records and held staff briefings.

Every NJROTC cadet of PHS makes sure to always remember and follow the Navy core values of honor, courage, and commitment.

NJROTC Academic Team
This spring, NJROTC students sat down to take a 100 question test with only one hour to complete. The students had to study basic military knowledge, current events, historical dates, and more.

When the cadets received the results from the test, they couldn’t believe what they were hearing. For the National Academic Test, Team One placed 1st place in the area, and 44th internationally. Team Two placed 16th in the area, Team Three placed 34th, and Team Four placed 97th.

The top three individuals were Tonanziht Aguas, Antoni Hernandez, and captain of the academic team, Justin Rymut.
