This Teacher Spotlight goes to Ms. Hall. Hall is a well-known chemistry teacher, who also teaches physical science classes. If you ask many, she is certainly one of their favorite teachers.
Hall has a major in biochemistry and a minor in psychology. She studied at the University of New Mexico. She continues to inspire and motivate us all to be who we want to be and do what we want to do. “I have had some remarkable science teachers in my life and I have modeled my teaching after them, plus a little sense of humor” Hall says.
Hall is one of many teachers at PHS that is part of the Teach For America program. This program is an organization full of passionate people who want to teach. They help develop and mobilize as many national future leaders as possible. Their mission is to strengthen the educational equality and excellence, especially in cities that are below the poverty line, and children in extreme poverty that are half as likely to graduate from high school.
Teachers such as Hall, keep great spirits in the classroom and never let us down.
“I want you to be the best most perfect chemist you can possibly be,” she says almost daily.
What’s also great about Ms. Hall is that she continues to love her students and what she does. “I love my students more than I love chemistry, which is a mole-lot!”
