On March 17, the PHS NJROTC, band, choir, and orchestra members were recognized for their incredible talents and hard work. The students were excused from periods eight and nine to enjoy a special treat with a small concert featuring the US Air Force Band, Full Spectrum.
Mr. Velez and Ms. Romero started the assembly off by giving special thanks to the students for always helping the school with their contribution to the arts and their leadership skills.
After Full Spectrum was introduced, the auditorium went dark. The lights came back on with the band standing on the stage with big smiles. The students were surprised to see how much energy radiated off the stage. The band hyped the students up by playing a cover to the rapper, Eminem’s well-known song “Lose Yourself.”
They made it clear that students were there to enjoy ourselves and they were able to sing along, dance and record.
Full Spectrum performed covers of recent hits and made students reminisce on past songs that they thought they had forgotten. Even so, every song was received with excitement from the audience.
This event showed the students of PHS NJROTC, band, orchestra, and choir members who give 110 percent every time they perform that PHS appreciates all that they do.
Full Spectrum showed students that they can always follow their dreams while doing something honorable, such as serving their country.
