Many students in the PHS Class of 2017 described it as “the best night of their lives.” The magical night at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ created beautiful memories for everyone that attended. PHS seniors long awaited their last hurrah at high school on June 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Not only was this night filled with students ready to dance all night, but also full of students with a sense of accomplishment and the end to their high school years.
Senior advisors, Ms. Johnson Green and Ms. Cipolla worked all year to make this night spectacular for the seniors. At the senior meeting five months ago, the senior advisors said that they had the Venetian booked since last year! The efforts of both the senior advisors and the prom committee was well worth for an amazing night for all the seniors.
Many teachers came to prom to enjoy the night with the students they have gotten to know over the past four years.
The theme of the night was “Arabian Nights.” Decorations and invitations reflected the sophisticated and romantic theme.
Both girls and boys felt the pressure of trying to create the perfect night for Prom. Many seniors agreed with senior Giselle Negrette when she admitted, “the hunt for my dress was such a hassle. I wanted to make sure that the dress fit me and who I am as a person.”
A student commented, “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” Prom will never be forgotten by the seniors who got to experience the “Arabian Nights.”
