Passaic High School is home to the brightest, most athletic and hardworking student athletes. On June 5, alongside the middle school Passaic High School’s varsity sports gathered at the auditorium along with their loved ones and prepared to be recognized for their hard work at the Varsity Sports Awards Ceremony.
One by one each team was called up to receive their rewards, which had consisted of the MVP award and the Character award. Every member of each team received a certificate, which gave them gratitude for their hard work and dedication to their team. With this they received the Varsity letter patch “P” and a pin for each individual’s sport.
There were many teams that were recognized for their achievements and success this year. The following teams were especially recognized for winning various championships this year: Cross Country County Champs, Freshman Basketball County Champs, and Cheerleading Big North Champs.
As the ceremony came to an end it was time to announce our annual male and female student athlete of the year. This award was given to the most promising and diligent student in PHS you must excel in both academics and sports outside and inside school. Both Luis Peralta and Maryah Sabat received the Male and Female Athlete of the Year Award.
Athletes and their families celebrated and enjoyed refreshments after the ceremony.
