On Thursday, January 25, the members of the Ski and Board Club here at PHS traveled to Mountain Creek in Vernon, New Jersey to learn how to snowboard and ski.

The group took a bus to Mountain Creek after school and came back at 10 p.m.

The advisors of the club are Ms. Lauricella and Mr. Devries, and the chaperones of this trip were Ms. Sciametta, Ms. Bang, and Ms. Yildirim.

It was the first time skiing and snowboarding for the majority of the students who went on the trip, making it more fun and challenging.

Not all mountains are available for night skiing, so Mountain Creek was the obvious choice for an after school trip.

The club advisers hope that the weather gets a little colder before spring so that they can go on one last trip this season.

“I recommend that everyone try out skiing or snowboarding at least twice in their life. The first time is very difficult, but after that, it gets a lot easier and more fun! You can’t get discouraged if you aren’t going down black diamond trails on the first day” said Ms. Sciametta.

“This was my first time skiing. It was really difficult at first, but I think I improved and I can’t wait to go again!” said student Damaris Ramirez.
