The founder of off-White, designer of what is considered one of the best collaborations of 2017, DJ, and quote user Virgil Abloh has been announced as the creative director of Louis Vuitton. Designer Kim Jones, former creative director of Louis Vuitton has joined the House of Dior Homme.

Virgil has simultaneously changed high end fashion and mainstream streetwear with his “hyped designs” in which have merged both “cultures” together. With Louis Vuitton being one of the oldest most recognizable names in luxury fashion, with it’s repeating LV pattern has saw an opportunity to market different type of menswear compared to past years. The addition of Virgil to Louis Vuitton is just a step into the right direction in which boundaries will be broken, which is due to his ability at creating clothing that is concurrently classic and trendy.

Kim Jones was hired as the menswear designer of Louis Vuitton back in 2011. Seven years into the future and he has been announced the artistic director of Dior Homme. Jones, who was responsible for the high-hype of Louis Vuitton during the summer of 2017, gave the fashion its first glance of that that Virgil will integrate into the brand. Jones is considered one of the most respected designers of his generation, primarily due to his work at Louis Vuitton by bringing luxury to the next level. Dior believes he is capable of doing the same as creative director of  Dior Homme.

With these new additions of creative directors to respectable notable luxury brands we are hoping to see breathtaking collaborations and collections for 2018. As for now, one could only dream of a Nike x Louis Vuitton collaboration and Kim Jones creating another iconic collaboration with Supreme.

We are all looking forward to see what Kim Jones and Virgil Abloh have in stored for us with their first collections, at their respected fashion houses at Men’s Fashion Week in June.
