If there ever comes a time when you have wanted to feel a roller coaster of emotions, not truly know what will happen next, the film, “Love, Simon,” based on the novel by Becky Albertalli Simon vs. the Homo Sapien Agenda, truly gives an overall modernizing twist to the typical romance movies.

The movie is based on the life and daily struggles of Simon, as he goes day to day carrying his secret that has never surpassed his thoughts. Throughout the movie, the audience gets to meet all those people dear to Simon that make life worthwhile. Even so, Simon is emailing back and forth with an anonymous pen pal “Blue” who is the only one who truly knows his secret.

While Simon is trying to discover who Blue is, he is also trying to discover who he is and what the world will think of him if his secret were ever to come out. Although the movie does not focus intensely on many of the major issues that were introduced but never explained throughout the film, this movie brings light to topics that many never thought would be seen play out on a big screen.

From start to finish, the audience wanted to not only know who “Blue” was, but who Simon really was and when would he finally declare his secret without fear.

If you ever want to watch a movie on a relaxing Saturday to remind you of how precious life little moments can be all while trying to overcome the burdens everyday, “Love, Simon” should be at the top of your list.
