On January 18 and 19 the newly formed PHS Drama Club, performed its first production, Alice in Wonderland. Performing a play in a new group takes a great deal of effort.
This production was not small and so the size of this production made the performance even harder to achieve. However, the effort paid off, this first play by the Drama Club was a huge success.
With a cast of thirty students and a large supporting crew of both teachers and students, this production showcased the vast talent available at PHS.
At many of the practices that went long into the evening, students had to demonstrate that they were willing to work together to achieve a goal. “I kept everyone going with my runs to Banana King,” said Anthony Leyva.
All the hard work paid off because the audience was treated to a dynamic and enjoyable show. “It was just so great to see them having fun up there,” said one theater goer.
The lead role of Alice is a lot to ask of anyone, and Zaida Telleria did a great job. “It definitely was a lot of work, but it was so fun,” said Zaida after the show.
Everyone who was in the show or watching it enjoyed their time in “Wonderland.” Hopefully this is just the first a many shows, that will be produced here at PHS.
