The eighth season of “American Horror Story” is called “Apocalypse.” It began with a nuclear armageddon, which is why it is called apocalypse. One of the best things about this season is that it merged characters from earlier seasons. FX has really outdone themselves in hooking the audience with new and fresh stories and exciting and suspenseful productions.
From the opening scene of the first episode, the season hooked me. As the last survivor of Los Angeles flew away from the ruined city, I had to wonder, where would the story go from here? After that first explosive episode, the series really moved slowly until episode three when everyone died!
Overall, though, this season seems to be like Ryan Murphy’s gift to FX (the producer of this show) before he heads off to Netflix, to do whatever he wants over there. After getting rid of 90 percent of the characters in episode three, this show is really great. It keeps moving and the stories grip the audience.
If I had to pick a season that Apocalypse is most like, I would have to say Hotel. That season was all over the place, and had craziness where anything could happen, and often did. While it did not make sense sometimes, it was definitely entertaining.
This show and this season are very demonic and full of bad experiences, but it is that uneasiness that makes the suspense of this show the reason to watch it. I think they could not have done a better job this season. It is definitely worth the watch.
