The Passaic Boys faced a very difficult season schedule this year. However, they left it all on the field. While the boys faced many challenges, but they fought hard. Talent only gets you so far, most of it is training and plain hard work. They trained for more than an hour in searing heat and cloying humidity. This season was very rough for our boys.
However, their hard work was recognized by the fans. The team would like to thank the fans who supported them throughout this season. It was a dedicated crowd who came out to cheer on the boys even in very intense weather.

Congratulations to all the seniors for their commitment to PHS Soccer. First, the team captains, Jesse Garcia (midfielder) and Ronny Lima (keeper). Other seniors are Sergio Ariza (midfielder), Edward Flores (midfielder), Ciro Rodriguez (midfielder) , Edwin Perez (defense), and last but not least, Roger Lucero (defense). They have been playing and committed to making PHS Soccer better than ever for the past four years. These student athletes put a lot of effort into the team.

Coach Pollaro said, “Thanks for all the sweat and effort you guys have put into the team.”
Captain Jesse Garcia said, “This season will be missed. I think we did a good job and we tried the best we could and we gave it our very best. Unfortunately, the mistakes we made cost us the games but even so we still fought. My wish for the upcoming players is for you guys to win the league, qualify states and just have fun.”

Win or lose, the team worked hard together and the comradery that was developed and the commitment to the team that was earned will last into future seasons.

Coach Pollaro would like to thank the boys soccer team for the commitment they put into the team. A goal Coach Pollaro looks forward to continuing to grow the boys soccer program is to do more preseason training, so that the team can be more competitive right from the very first game. The commitment to the team by the players is good and will get better.

Coach Pallaro said, “I think it was a successful season, but I think the season could’ve been better if we had more training from the team. To accomplish more for the next season, I think the boys will need more weight room work. For my seniors, thank you for the commitment and for the last four years of playing. The next season will be playing for you guys.”

The team is going to continue to grow because of the work put in by the players right now. Coach Pollaro wants to make a plea to those thinking about playing soccer. He says that players should stay in Passaic. They should keep their Passaic pride and not go to Tech or any Tech school and to keep everyone in Passaic to make the program grow more. For the next season he will be looking forward to having a young team so they can all grow together and learn new things.

This will be such a memorable season for our soccer team. The amount of effort our boys put into this season will forever be appreciated. Coach Pollaro couldn’t be more proud of these boys. It may have not ended the way we would’ve liked it to but it will always be remembered.

Jesse Garcia said, “Long lives the rose that grew from the concrete when no one else even cared.”
