Football fans have been waiting for the Super Bowl for the entire season. The teams that made it to the big game were the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. There are many fans for both of these teams. Kansas City has been killing it lately and going to the big game in 2019, 2020, and this year. They are the team to beat, so how did the Eagles stack up?
Philly had a great season this year. They could not be beat and overcame many teams that many thought were impossible to beat. However, the matchup against the Chiefs would be the true test.
The most intense part of this year’s Super Bowl was the call made by the referee. The NFL officials have been under the close eye of fans this season, especially since the calls that seemed to favor the Chiefs in the AFC championship game against the Cincinnati Bangles.
The controversial call in the Super Bowl was Eagles’ cornerback James Bradberry was flagged for holding. He supposedly held receiver Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster. The penalty call meant that the Chiefs got a first down, which meant they were able to run the clock, which meant that Philly was not able to get enough time to even the odds.
With Super Bowl LVII in the record books, it was a big win for the Kansas City Chiefs and a heartbreaking defeat for the Philadelphia Eagles, with a final score of 38-35. It was a close game which made the calls made by officials just that much more important.
This was the second Super Bowl victory for the Chiefs, but Philly is still a great team, with no shame this year. They left it all out on the field and they will be back next year.
