I have a friend who used to be bullied by a bunch of girls, because she was a little bit chubby. The girls who bullied her were skinny.
My friend never spoke up for herself or reported her bullying. As a friend I did not want to disrespect my friend’s wishes by reporting her troubles and possibly making her situation worse.
The situation never changed because we never did anything to change it. We were both quiet about her hidden pain.
One day the bullying became just too much for her to bear and she exploded in violent fury. The girls began calling my friend chubby and she snapped. She punched the bullies in their face.
Realizing her power she actually began bullying others, calling some other girls short. I lost a friend because I could not be friends with a girl who was a bully.
She had been bullied and then became a bully. It was not right for her to hurt others, just because she was hurt.
Bullying affects everyone differently. However, it hurts those who are bullied, those who are bullies, and the friends who are just caught in the middle.
